Our New Computing Lead!

I am delighted to step into the role of Computing Lead here at  ALP Nuneaton! As someone who is deeply passionate about technology and education, I am incredibly excited to embark on this journey with all of you.

In our computing classes, we’re diving into a world of innovation and creativity. We’re covering a wide array of exciting topics to provide a holistic learning experience:

  • Online Safety: Equipping our students with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
  • Algorithms: Unraveling the mysteries of algorithms, enhancing problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
  • Programming and Debugging: Mastering the art of coding and learning the resilience needed for debugging, a crucial skill in the world of technology.
  • Scratch Junior: Creating interactive stories and games, sparking imagination and creativity among our young learners.
  • Digital Painting: Merging art and technology, we’re exploring the world of digital painting, where ideas come to life with a stroke of a digital brush.
  • Moving a Robot: Engaging hands-on activities where students get to see their code come to life, moving robots and understanding the magic of robotics.
  • Digital Writing: Nurturing digital literacy skills by expressing creativity and thoughts through digital writing.
  • Technology All Around Us: Investigating the pervasive presence of technology in our lives, understanding how it shapes our world.
  • Word Processing: Mastering the art of word processing, an essential skill for academic and professional success.
  • Grouping Data: Learning to organize and interpret data, enhancing problem-solving abilities for real-world applications.

Championing Online Safety and Social Media

In addition to being your Computing Lead, I am also serving as the school’s Online Safety Lead and Social Media Ambassador. Ensuring a secure online environment for our students is paramount. Through engaging sessions, we’re empowering our students to make wise decisions online, promoting responsible digital citizenship.
