Welcome to ALP Nuneaton, a Special Needs School catering for up to 90 learners aged 6 to 19. Established in 2021, we specialise in providing a nurturing educational environment for children and young people who have faced challenges or struggled to thrive in mainstream education due to their special educational needs.
Our core philosophy is built on the understanding that successful teaching and learning can only happen when strong foundations are in place. We prioritise establishing consistent routines, developing positive relationships, and fostering mutual respect and trust between staff and learners. To support this holistic approach, our school is structured around two fluid pathways. These adaptable routes ensure that every learner receives an individualised, broad and balanced curriculum that aligns closely with their unique learning, emotional and developmental needs.
We pride ourselves on offering small class sizes and dedicated one-to-one learning where education is tailored to the individual. Every learner follows a Foundation Learning Curriculum which encompasses essential instruction in core skills including English, maths and ICT, alongside Personal and Social Development, Vocational Learning and Outdoor Learning. As students progress into Post-16 education, our focus shifts toward practical life skills, hands-on vocational training and employability to prepare them for a confident transition into adulthood.
Learning at ALP Nuneaton is designed to be both fun and deeply engaging, supported by specialised activities. Physical well-being and active play are central to school life, featuring a large sports hall along with indoor and outdoor play areas coordinated by our school sports coach. Older students can explore practical interests in our dedicated art studio, engage in group and 1:1 music lessons, take part in various outdoor and adventure learning, a dedicated forest schools space and spacious classrooms designed to promote focused learning
