As part of our Eco Schools Initiative we began to develop a Kitchen garden space where learners have been learning about plants, vegetables and fruits with what they need to grow and beginning to plant within school.
Our first try at gardening was with three small tomato plants which were planted back last academic year. Now in September we were able to harvest our first bunch of tomatoes from the plants in which learners washed and took to the kitchen. As lunch clubs continue and the weather changes learners are getting the opportunity to explore the garden through break times and gardening clubs in a different season.
