ALP Nuneaton provides continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans. We are a short, medium, and long-term provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater to young people in their primary, secondary, and post-16 school years. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with learners so that they can overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured, and supportive needs-led approaches.  

The post-holder will specialise in tuition of Art & Design delivered to learners with learning difficulties/disabilities in both individual and small group learning sessions.  The post holder will be able to plan, deliver, and assess their own teaching and learning activities with some direction and supervision from the Senior Management Team. They will work all key stages and will be able to tutor learners in accordance with the school’s curriculum policy. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train/gain funded qualifications in the following areas: Phonics, Level 5, PGCE, National Professional Qualifications, QTLS/QTS, and other relevant training options are available linked to the post and the school development plan.

We are looking for a curriculum manager to lead on the school’s curriculum development. The post holders will support the Assistant Head Teacher in providing professional leadership for this school that secures its success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its pupils and improved standards of learning and achievement. Each role will focus on a different part of the school’s rich and wide curriculum. They will guide school teachers and higher level tutors to ensure successful teaching and learning in relation to the school’s curriculum policy.
